Michaelas story

In summer 2013, the time had come: Michaela completed her A-levels. But at the age of 18, she was still unsure where her journey would take her - studying, working or travelling? In the end, she took the plunge into working life and applied to various employers and industries without knowing exactly which path was right for her. Her chance then came with us - at the Alpin Family - where she started as a receptionist at the AvenidA Mountain Resort in Kaprun. Michaela's tasks were varied: welcoming guests, check-in and check-out, accompanying guests to their flats, dealing with booking enquiries by phone and email and managing all guest communication. What was initially intended as a temporary solution quickly turned out to be a dream job. Michaela loved the variety, the contact with guests and colleagues and the fact that every day was different.

At that time, the Alpin Family was still much smaller, which is why reservations were still made directly at reception. As the company continued to grow, Michaela was given the exciting task of setting up her own reservations department in 2017. Since then, she has managed this department with great success and passion.

From 2016 to 2018, Michaela deepened her knowledge with a diploma degree programme in tourism and event management at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. This allowed her to combine practice with theory and stay up to date at all times. Even after 10.5 years, Michaela is still full of enthusiasm for the job. She is constantly learning new things and is always taking on new challenges. She was also instrumental in implementing various systems to make the work of the reservations department more efficient and to drive forward digitalisation. All this in order to offer guests the best possible service.
